Daimler Financial Services: Daimler Group's Financial Services Units to Change Name

Berlin, October 5, 2007. – DaimlerChrysler Financial Services, the financial services division of the Daimler Group, will operate under the new name Daimler Financial Services AG in the future. The company, which has its headquarters in Berlin, will be following its parent company, which was renamed Daimler AG in accordance with the resolution passed by the Extraordinary Shareholders’ Meeting on October 4. The new name will go into force once the names Daimler AG and Daimler Financial Services AG have been entered into the respective commercial registers.

„The future Daimler Financial Services AG is active in more than 40 countries and internationally well positioned. With more than 58 billion Euro, the current contract volumen is 2.5 times as high as it was ten years ago,“ said Bodo Uebber, Member of the Board of Manangement of Daimler AG, responsible for Finance, Controlling and Financial Services.

As part of the renaming process, the international subsidiaries of Daimler Financial Services AG in more than 40 countries will be renamed as well. Companies that mostly or exclusively finance or lease vehicles from Mercedes-Benz will be renamed Mercedes-Benz Financial Services. All others will be renamed Daimler Financial Services. The new names will therefore adhere to the principles laid down for the Group’s national sales organizations. The date for renaming the local financial services companies will be selected in close coordination with the local sales partners and after the new name has been entered into the respective commercial register.

"Most of our companies throughout the world will operate in the future under the name Mercedes-Benz Financial Services," said Jürgen Walker, Chairman of the Board of Management of the future Daimler Financial Services AG. "This will mean that customers will perceive our financial services even more clearly as an essential part of the offerings of the world's best-known automotive brand." Outside North America, Daimler Financial Services will remain the exclusive financial services partner for the brands Chrysler, Dodge, and Jeep.
